When we arrived to see our babies, we received the news that they are no longer restricting the amount of formula the kids can have.  They had been progressively increasing the amount by 3 cc's each day, but never giving them more than the prescribed amount.  Now they are allowed to have as much as they can handle.

We got there in time for Lisa to finish feeding Jonathan.  He ended up taking about 50 cc's.  That's pretty amazing given that yesterday he was restricted to 30 cc's.  About 10 minutes after he finished, he started to spit back up alittle bit of it.  But what came back up was minimal in quantity.

We did not stay quite as long tonight.  Daddy has not been to bed before 1 a.m. even without them home.  Its been making for afternoons at work where the head wants to fall into the keyboard!!!  So we decided to keep it alittle shorter tonight.  That way we can catch up on some of the household chores like laundry, etc. (and writing THIS).

Hopefully the unlimited quantities will mean that they'll start packing on the ounces.  Of course, it will also mean a significant increase in the amount of dirt in the diapers too!!!  So far Daddy has been lucky with Jonathan in that respect.  He hasnt had a big mess from Jonathan yet.

This weekend Mommy and Daddy will be taking an infant CPR class at the hospital.  They prefer that anyone that would be left alone to care for a small child take the class.  Daddy also needs to call the police to have them check out the installation of the car seat bases to be sure they're in properly.

Sounds like they will start packing on the weight. Was just wondering if any of the babies have graduated to the basinette?

No, not yet.  They said they do not like to change more than one thing at a time with them.  So in increasing the amount of food, they'll leave them on heat for now.

But they are slowing reducing the temperature of the heat.  So they are gradually prepping them for the bassinet.

They also mentioned that they will soon change the parameters for what is considered an alarm based on their heart and breathing rates.  So even though Anna seems to alarm a couple times a day for heart rate, the alarm might not go off when they lower the rate threshold.  Right now I think the alarm goes off if the rate dips below 100 b.p.m.  They'll lower the threshold to 80 b.p.m. since they're almost two weeks old.

Based on Jonathan's weight increasing to 4 lb, 2 oz yesterday, and based on how alert he seemed to be (was really looking around with wide eyes...was so cute), I think he's trying to work towards coming home as fast as he can.

Another couple that was in one of the baby care classes with us the other month just gave birth the other day, and their twins are right by our triplets.  They're kids were both 5 lbs each!  But they were born preemie at 34 weeks old, so there is still some reasons for them to be in the NICU too.
