Summer, what summer?

It's hard to believe that Labor Day weekend is upon us. It seems like it wasn't that long ago since Memorial Day. Boy time has flown by.
Since the last time we posted, there have been some small but exciting developments with the kids. One night daddy was using the bird puppet to try to entertain them. Lydia was not only interested in watching it, but actually reached out for it. She grabbed ahold of it and, as infants do, tried to pull it up to her mouth. This is the first she has tried to reach for anything like that.
Just today daddy was supervising tummy-time. Lydia did the best she ever has, and actually did push herself up and held up for a couple seconds. She did repeat this a second time, but then got tired. Anna, who has pushed herself up in the past, pushed up so hard she lost balance and rolled over onto her back. She also pushed herself up a couple of times. Daddy did get pictures of them in the act, so hopefully we'll get those pictures on the photos section later this weekend.
Aunt Sue was able to drop by Saturday two weeks ago. She had to come to York to help open up a Giant supermarket on the west side of town. She was able to come spend a couple hours before having to drive home, do laundry, and pack up for another trip to a different store the following week. She brought them a present...several books for mommy and daddy to read to them. They're not quite ready for story-time yet, but it may not be too much longer till they are interested. Jonathan seemed to like when Aunt Sue got the dog puppet after him. Anna was all smiles, as usual. And Lydia...well....she was just her typical self! (If you want to know what that means, you'll just have to come visit to find out).
Earlier this week one of our neighbors and her two daughters stopped over in the evening for a short visit. They also brought the little ones presents. They got really cute sleeper outfits from them. The babies seemed to enjoy the company, and mommy and daddy enjoyed having visitors too.
Stay tuned after the 11th, as that is their next doctors appointment. Jonathan just feels so heavy now that we can't even begin to guess what his exact weight will be.
