Turning over

The babies are starting to turn over! Lydia has always slept on
her side. That might be because of her birth-mark on her
back. But Anna and Jonathan have always slept on their
backs. Several days ago, Anna started to turn onto her side from
her back. Then two days ago, Jonathan did the same thing.
They've been doing it ever since. This morning while Jonathan was
having his diaper changed, Lydia went from her side onto her
tummy! She has never done that before!
The Early Intervention folks came by yesterday for another
evaluation. They said they never saw a baby at our babies ages
that smiled and laughed as much as Anna. She has been quite the
smiley and giggly girl lately. Who needs a tickle-me-elmo when
you have a tickle-me-Anna? And no tickling is even required to
start the laughing. Part of their evaluation was testing them
being able to roll from their tummies onto their backs. Anna did
the best, which was no surprise to us. When we tummy-time her,
she regularly pushes herself up so far/fast that she ends up loosing
balance and tumbling onto her back. Jonathan had to work alittle
hard at this, and Lydia did it but was just generally in a fussy mood
even before they arrived.
Speaking of tickle-me-Elmo, have you seen the new tickle-me-elmo
T.M.X.? It looks hilarious. We would like to get one for
the kids to share. But it might be luck to actually get
one. I went over lunch on Thursday to Boscov's and looked
there. As I saw boxes by Fisher-Price yet unopened, I asked the
clerk about it. She said they had set out all the T.M.X.'s before
the store opened at 10:00. They had 27 of them, and they were gone
by 11:00! I looked at Target too. And no luck there
either. I had already looked online at Fisher-Price.com,
Walmart.com, Target.com and eToys.com. Target is not even trying
to sell them online, and the other sites were already sold out.
We'll keep trying to find them in stores or online at a retailer, but
we refuse to buy one from someone that already bought one and is
looking to make a huge profit by marking it up 100%, 200% or more (I've
seen one site listing them for $120.00, when the store retail is to be
$39.99).
Ms. Harley decided to get sick again this week. Just as she did
around the time the babies were brought home, she ended up having
trouble with her bowl movements. So off to the Vet. for her
again. They decided we should increase the one medicine from 2 to
3 times per day. And they perscribed a stool softner hoping that
if the stuff is softer, it will have less chance of clogging up inside
her. We hope this works. She really is the sweetest cat
when she is well. But if this does not work, the only other thing
that could be tried is a surgery by a specialist. But as there
would be no guarentee that the surgery would cure her and it would cost
more than two months supply of formular/diapers/wipes would cost, we
may have to consider putting her to sleep if the problem keeps coming
back. So I hope for her sake, the increased medicine and stool
softner works.
