New, scary habit

The last two nights, Jonathan and Lydia have started a new, scary habit. They are rolling onto their tummies, and sometimes keeping their head straight up-and-down so that their little noses are right on the mattress!!! This is exactly why they say an infants mattress should be extra firm, and there should be no blankets or stuffed animals in the cribs. We can see how it would be so easy for something terrible to happen if you had those things in there.
Jonathan kept trying this two nights ago. But it was only before he was getting sleepy. Once he was on his way to la-la-land, we were able to turn him onto his back and he stayed there.
Last night Jonathan was good, by Lydia started it up. Unlike Jonathan, we kept checking her throughout the night and she keeps going back that way. As I write this, I am in their room watching them. Fortunately Lydia did show me she can turn back onto her back if she gets determined enough.
That's the other scary part, is that they do not always know how to turn over onto their backs themselves yet.
As far as Anna, she rolls onto here tummy too. But she seems to keep her head turned to the side so that breathing is not a problem. She does not tend to keep her head straight up-and-down like Jonathan and Lydia.
The other bad side-effect of them learning to lay on their stomachs is that they tend to get the diaper just loose enough that they wet their clothes overnight. We're trying the Pamper's Baby Dry diapers for overnight. But even those to not always work.
