The challenge of decorating for Christmas

This year we are finding out what a challenge it is to decorate for Christmas while caring for three little people under a year old. Decorating is something daddy normally does while mommy is at work. But with little ones to watch at the same time, it is a little more difficult. We knew up front that we would not be able to do as much as we normally would, and the goal is to just get the tree up and decorated. So one night while both of us were here, daddy brought up all of the boxes containing the decorations and the tree. Then the next night daddy put the tree together and started stringing the lights. Now that the weekend is here, daddy will try to finish putting the rest of the decorations on when possible.
We usually put up some decorations outside, but by no means do we do a huge display or anything. Just enough to be festive. We think we'll just skip the outside all together this year.
And thank goodness for QVC, amazon.com, and other retailers with the ability to order products online. Since we do not want to take the babies out shopping with us in their first year, it is very convenient to order gifts and stuff over the internet or over the phone and have the product just show up at your door a few days later. Even though we both generally like to shop, neither of us enjoys the larger crowds of shopping at Christmas and ordering things minimizes the hustle and bustle we have to be apart of.
We're taking the kids to the mall on Monday for pictures in their Christmas outfits. Hopefully being a monday it wont be too bad. And if all goes as planned, two baby sitters are scheduled to come over on Wednesday and let mommy and daddy have an evening out.
