Adjusting the schedule

We're trying to adjust the babies schedule a little bit, to get it more in line with how their sleep schedule should be.  The schedule used to be something like this:
  • 7:00 - formula, then back to sleep
  • 10:00 - awake and up for some play time
  • 11:00 - cereal or baby food + formula, awake for play time
  • 1:30(ish) - fall asleep for a nap
  • 2:30 - awake and starting to get hungry again
  • 3:00 - formula
  • 5:30(ish) - a second nap (if mommy and daddy are lucky), although Anna's tend to be only 15 minutes
  • 7:00 - formula (with vitamins), awake and playing
  • 10:30 - formula, then off to bed by 11:30 - 12:00
As they really should get go to bed in the early evening so that they get acclimated to getting up in the morning (so that down the road it wont be a shock when they need to get up for school), we will try the new routine:
  • 7:00 - formula
  • 8:00(ish) - Keep awake and play through the morning
  • 11:00 - cereal or baby food + formula
  • 12:00 - Nappy time
  • 1:00(ish) - awake for playtime
  • 3:00 - cereal or baby food + formula with vitamins, then more playtime
  • 5:00 - Nappy time again(?)
  • 6:30 - Bath (not every day)
  • 7:00 - formula
  • 8:00 - sleepy time for the night
Exactly when the nappy time comes into play will really be determined by what they seem to like best.

Today was the first day trying this routine.  As it is closing in on 9:00 p.m., so far they seem to be sleeping okay.  Under this new schedule, daddy will have a little more time in the evenings to get other chores done around the house that were harder to do while the babies were still up.  Unfortunately this kind of schedule means that poor mommy has to adjust her sleeping schedule too (mommy is more of a night-owl).

Daddy kept telling Mommy that Anna would be crawling by New Years Day.  Well, she is still not there yet.  But she does so good staying up on her hands and knees, and she can wiggle on her tummy and use her elbows to kinda crawl while on her belly.  Jonathan sometimes raises up on his hands or elbows and his toes with his entire body raised.  But he has not perfected the wiggle-crawl that Anna does.  Lydia is not showing as much progress in this area yet, but I bet watching Anna and Jonathan might be all she needs to get her started.

We finally got the dining room cleared out and are starting to make it ready to be their play room.  Mommy bought some baskets from Target so we can put their toys in those when they're not playing with them.  Unfortunately some of the stuff that was cleared out of the room is in the front room where Daddy's desk is now, and needs to be gone through to find proper storage places for all that stuff yet.  So although their playroom is coming together, it created a temporary mess in the other room for the moment.  Daddy is trying to get the Christmas Tree and decorations down this weekend too, so hopefully the house will be in better shape next week.
