When it rains, it pours

Well now that I think about it, it actually snowed! Last nights snow was the first of this season in our area, with barely an 1" total.
This past week is one that we hope will not be repeated anytime soon. Start off Monday with Ms. Harley (black cat) getting "backed up" again. We had a home enema kit, so we used it. Needless to say, it was not enjoyable for either one of us. The good news is that by the end of the day, she seemed cleared out and was getting back to her old self.
Tuesday, Lydia started coughing and seemed a little stuffy in the nose. Within a day or two Jonathan was coughing too, but so far it hasn't seemed to hit him full-on like the girls. Anna started coughing the other day, and her nose seems stuffed up today too. They do not have a fever or anything, so there shouldn't be anything to worry about. We dont know which one of us brought it home to them, as neither of us have gotten sick. And we haven't had any visitors to the house either.
The Reatta (Lisa's car) is not doing so good. It's been having trouble running lately, and really started to stall on her. So we are now sharing the Grand Prix as the vehicle we go to work in. We reserve the Explorer for whomever is home with the babies, so if any emergency should arise we'd have it to get them to the doctors office. Given that I think the Reatta needs tires too and it's inspection is coming up in April, we're not sure we want to spend the money on it to fix it right now. It would be a shame to get rid of it, as less than 22,000 were made for the entire 4 years of production (see the
Reatta Division club website for more info). It really needs a restoration, but that's not going to happen anytime soon.
Earlier this week I also noticed a very small drip coming from where the hot water heater outlet pipe connects to the PVC pipes that feed the rest of the house with hot water. So we had that repaired the day after I spotted it. The repairman said it was not installed right to begin with. The pipes feeding the house were tight up against the floor joists, so there really was no give or play in the pipes. So this added pressure to the connection, causing the leak. Given some of the other things we have not been happy with here, we're not surprised. Yet somehow the builder has been named "Best Builder of the Year" at least twice now. I don't know...did they do a good job for everyone except us?
Let's all hope that next week is a little better, because I can't image how it would really be any worse.
