Today was the babies 9 month doctors visit (even though they're 3 days shy of 10 months).  Everything went well, and the doctor seemed really thrilled with their progress given being born so early.

Jonathan is now 18 lbs, 2 oz; 29.5 inches tall.
Anna is now 15 lbs, 3 oz; 26.75 inches tall.
Lydia is now 14 lbs, 9 oz; 26.5 inches tall.

As you can see, Lydia is actually catching up to Anna in weight and height.

They all got their tiny fingers pricked for a blood sample to check their hemoglobin levels, which they test right in the office.  Jonathan barely cared that they did it.  Lydia and Anna both cried for the stick, and were not too fond of the examination either.  All of their levels were above 11, which is good.  10 or higher is okay.  The doctor said for triplets born early it was really good to seem them well over 10.

One of the things we were somewhat surprised with was the recommendation to try to reduce the number of feedings per day from 4 to 3.  The doctor felt that they could wait until anywhere between 8 - 10 for their first meal, then the 2nd anywhere from 12 - 2, and the final one between 4 - 6.  We're a little unsure whether they will be happy trying to switch to that kind of schedule.  So we might not try it right away, but possibly try to ease them into something like that in a week or two.

Since the kids generally like to ride in the vehicle, we decided to try a stop at BJ's club for some supplies before heading home.  They fell asleep for the ride to BJ's, and stayed calm even when they woke up.  Once we got home, it was time for them to eat again.  Since we had to adjust their schedule a little bit, we were surprised they didn't act hungrier than they did.
