Stick out your tongue and blow...

Lydia's latest thing is she likes to stick her tongue between her lips and blow (Pbbbt!).  When she's in the mood, she'll keep doing it over and over.  It's really funny/cute when she does.  We'll do it back to her, and she smiles and repeats.

They are starting to copy things that we do, or what one of the others does.  Daddy shakes his head back and forth really fast, and they try to copy it.  If one of them decides to put their head down on the table during lunch or dinner, at least one of the other two will do it too.  Sometimes Lydia and Anna will both hold up a small toy and they hit the toys together.

Even though Jonathan was the first one to start standing up, Anna may end up being the first one to walk good.  We have a toy made for helping them learn to walk.  We had been trying it with Jonathan once he seemed to be good at standing up on his own.  But once Anna was good at standing up, we tried her with the walker toy and she took right to it.  Tonight after Mommy headed in to work, Daddy held Anna's hands and she stood up.  So Daddy stood up, holding her hands and facing her.  Daddy started walking backwards slowly, and Anna started walking forward for about 6 or 7 steps.  Then she took a quick break, and then went another 4 or 5 steps.  All the while she has a big grin on her face and she giggles.  Jonathan and Lydia came over to us then, and Daddy tried Jonathan but he was just not in the mood.  Lydia is better now at standing up.  But sometimes while standing at the front window in their playroom, she cannot remember to bend her legs to get back down and crawl...so she starts crying until Mommy or Daddy comes to get her.

They like sliced bananas, baby yogurt, baby crackers, and puffs.  Cottage cheese did not go over so well, and pudding was not a big hit either.  And Anna still spits out any #3 food (baby food with real chunks in it).  So now we do one bowl without chunks for her, and another bowl for Jonathan and Lydia at supper time.

We tried to take them out to the mall the other night.  It didn't go very well.  Partly because they haven't been out much, they just dont like sitting in their strollers when the stroller isn't moving.  That makes shopping a frustrating experience.  The other problem is we have not been successful at getting them to drink from sippy-cups.  So they were tired, hungry, and bored by the time we were done.  Not a good scenario.

Daddy started his new job this week.  So far, so good.  But working in Information Technology, it is really hard to know in the first few weeks how things will be long-term.  Initially there is the struggle of just getting security for access to all the systems required, and loading up various software for doing the job (different developers need different tools depending on what you're working on, so it's impossible for an employer to pre-load everything a developer will use on the machine before they start).  Then there is the learning-curve to get up to speed on their systems and understanding the departments procedures and methodologies for writing/maintaining the software.  Overall everyone at the company seems very nice and helpful, the building is almost brand new so the work environment is nice, and they even let the employees leave early today to get an early start to the holiday weekend.

Sometime over this weekend pictures from this month will be posted.  So check back later for them.
