Dont fence me in...

Sorry, but we did. Earlier this year we looked into having our back yard fenced in so that when only one of us is home, we can take the kiddos outside and not worry if they do go off in three different directions. After checking with the local township, we ended up hitting a road-block. Since we have a corner lot, the part of our BACK yard that meets up with the street is technically considered a front yard. Now I dont know anyone other than a township official that would, in their right mind, tell me that our back yard is a front yard. But that is what they claim, and you are not allowed to put a fence in your back, I mean front, yard. So we put the project on hold until we could decide whether to go through with it or not. Spending that kind of money when you are not getting what you really wanted is something you cannot take lightly. In the end, we decided we still need the fence, so it was put in last week. It does look okay, and the installer was very knowledgeable and helpful in answering our questions before the install. We have not taken them out there yet, though. We'd rather wait until they are walking on their own to take them out.
Anna is especially good at walking around ON HER KNEES! Lydia and Jonathan do it too, but not as much as Anna. Now if she would just get up one her feet, she'd be set. We're still waiting for Anna to decide she'll do better with drinking from a sippy-cup. Lydia usually does well. Jonathan is just a matter of his mood, but he can do good. It is not that Anna cannot do it, because she does take some liquid through the straw. She just does not want to do it. And we know it is not what she is drinking, because if you put whatever it is in a baby bottle she will drink it.
Grandma and Pappy came to visit for a few hours yesterday. The kids were napping when they arrived, so Daddy put in that latest DVD we finished recording of the trio from March - July of this year. Lydia was brought downstairs first and handed off to Pappy. She seemed content. Jonathan came down next, and Grandma held him while Daddy retrieved Anna. Anna still has issues with visitors, and started crying right away. Daddy tried giving her favorite bunny puppet to hold, and that didn't really help too much. After a couple minutes, she stopped crying. So we put her up with Grandma and Pappy for a group picture and she started up again. After the pictures we let all of them down to play with their toys, and Anna calmed down when they started playing. Early Intervention has the same person come out once a month, and Anna cries at Jane everytime too. At one point Jonathan and Anna both climbed the steps together while they were visiting. Daddy had to keep holding Jonathan back so Anna could keep up and Daddy could ensure their safety. If Daddy would have let him, Jonathan might have been up in half the time as Anna. Lydia wanted to try it too, but could not figure out how to get her legs up to the next step yet.
