18 Month Doctors visit

Yesterday was the trio's 18 month doctors visit. Due to the appointment being at 3:15 p.m., it meant trying to feed them earlier than usual. But given they had just got up from their nap, they just didn't want to eat when we tried. Once we got there, Mommy carried Jonathan in while Daddy put the girls in the double stroller. It was much busier than usual this time. So as we're waiting to be called, another boy is called back. He was sitting on the "sick child" waiting area side, but had to walk past us. As he was right beside the girls in the stroller, he had to cough. So he turns right towards Lydia and starts to cough. So we'll see in another day or two if she starts to get sick. As they didn't eat before going and we waited well past our appointment time, Jonathan decided to squirm and be very vocal. Eventually we took Anna out of the stroller and put Jonathan in since we couldn't hold him still.
For the first time since they were born, we have a switch in the order of their weights. As we've been suspecting, Lydia is now heavier than Anna. Here are the numbers for this time
Jonathan
Weight: 25 lbs. (still the "big boy")
Height: 33.25 inches
Anna
Weight: 20 lbs, 2 oz. (the new "light-weight")
Height: 32.25 inches
Lydia
Weight: 20 lbs, 10 oz. (a half pound heavier than "little sister")
Height: 31.5 inches
Then each had 4 shots this time. Anna was the worst for the entire exam. It took both of us to hold her still while the doctor did the exam and gave the shots. We did her first. Jonathan did better, as he cried but layed relatively still. He didn't really cry for the shots until the third one (he did that once before too). Lydia was in between the two. She cried really good, and wiggled some but not like Anna.
The doctor was pleased with their weight and height gains. Jonathan is now above the 50 percentile for weight. The girls are still down around the 5th percentile, but they've been consistently gaining weight so that is not a concern. We were told they might actually reduce the amount of food intake as they get better at walking. He said sometimes some kids barely eat one meal per day...just enough to stay nourished. So the fact that so far they haven't significantly reduced their intake is good. Especially for the girls that are still light-weights.
They now get a longer reprieve for doctor's visits. They do not go back until their birthday. And then they will not go back again until their third birthday.
It's almost the end of the month, so the next posting will probably be to announce the monthly pictures once they are up.
