Learning more each day

It is getting interesting around here, as the kiddos seem to be learning more and more each day. We've been working on teaching them to say "bye-bye" for a while now. The girls are finally catching on. They will both say bye-bye to Mommy whenever she leaves for work. The funny thing about Lydia, though, is that initially she would wait until after Mommy was already out the door and could not hear her.
Sometimes they will start to all walk around one of us in circles, continually chasing each other. They all get ear-to-ear grins on their faces, and start giggling like crazy.
They can touch their ears and noses when you ask them too. Lydia will bring us a ball or certain stuffed animals when we ask her to. Lydia will roll the ball to you, but Anna decided she might be a soccer player. She will purposely kick the balls with her feet from the side just like a soccer player would.
The girls will sometimes give you a kiss when you ask them too. But Jonathan gave Mommy a big surprise tonight when he went right up to Mommy three times and gave her a kiss. He had never done that before. The first one he actually puckered up with closed lips.
Mommy has been working with them on holding their own spoons during feedings. Anna was the first to start, followed by Lydia. Today all three of them seemed interested in trying it.
Anna is really good at walking, and Lydia does pretty good too. Jonathan does o.k., but he still holds his arms up in the air to keep himself balanced. So he doesn't look "natural" yet in how he walks.
We still have not put them at the kitchen table yet. We recently got a new table, but it is temporarily being used to hold some of the items from our kitchen counters. We had a contractor come and box in the empty area above the kitchen cabinets, and install recessed lighting above the counters and above the door from the garage. We also had them move the light fixture over the island. That fixture never was centered properly, so it is now centered (the original builder probably had the electrical box in place before the cabinet folks installed the island). Since we need to paint more than just the area they boxed in, we did not have them do any painting. So Daddy will be busy this weekend during the kids naps and when they're in bed for the night trying to get the whole area painted.
