Learning more every day

Or sometimes learning something every few minutes!
All three of the trio are expanding their vocabulary. Lydia is the funniest, as she'll pick certain words that she says with extreme enthusiasm. We never thought we'd hear someone be so excited about an "Apple!!!". Jonathan's favorite word seems to be car. One morning Daddy went in to get them up, and Daddy had on a t-shirt with cars on them. Jonathan was already awake. He usually says "Hi" as you enter the room. That day he followed up his "Hi" with "Car!" immediately. Although Anna has been attached to her bunny puppet for some time, lately she really says "Bunny" with a lot of energy.
We've been playing several Sesame Street and other videos that focus on learning the alphabet and numbers. They really like the alphabet ones. Sometimes when one of them or Mommy or Daddy says a letter in the alphabet, one or more of the kids will actually say the NEXT letter or two in the sequence.
One of Mommy's coworkers was nice enough to donate a sliding board play set, two play lawn mowers, and a dump truck they can ride. On days where it is not cold and/or raining, we try to get them in the back yard for a little bit. They seem to like roaming around out there. They're a little scared of the sliding board, but today Lydia kept walking to the ladder part of the sliding board, so she must be deciding she likes it. Jonathan liked it a week ago, but didn't seem interested today. What is odd is that twice now they decided when they were ready to go back inside. Today Jonathan grabbed daddy's finger to walk, and Lydia decided she wanted daddy's other hand. Jonathan led us back to the deck and into the house. We would have let them play outside longer, but they really decided they were done after about 40 minutes.
Jonathan's hair really grows fast. He'll be getting a haircut again soon.
Happy Memorial Day everyone.
