We went to Dutch Wonderland last Thursday with the help of Aunt Donna.  The pictures are up on the Photos page.  The weather was just about perfect, other than being slightly warmer than we would have liked.  The trip went very well.  It was very enjoyable having a 1 to 1 ratio of adults to children.  Our little "ladies man" decided to be Aunt Donna's buddy for the day.  We were pleasantly surprised that they all walked for most of the entire day.  A couple times we picked them up for a little bit.  But even at the end walking out to the car, Aunt Donna tried to carry Jonathan out because he seemed tired.  But he wiggled on her because he just really wanted to walk.  Anna really liked the Merry-go-round, and generally liked most of the rides.  Lydia liked the little individual trains that they can either go themselves by cranking a hand-crank, or the parents can push them around with a stick.  All-in-all, they all had a good time, and so did us grown-ups.  Thank You Aunt Donna for making the day a huge success.  With your help, it was a pleasant day.  Without your help, it would have been a big challenge.

We'd like to get the kids on some other outings this summer, but would like to put a request out to others that would be willing to come along with us and help just like Aunt Donna did.  If you'd be interested in going on an outing with us, just give us a call and let us know.  Lisa only works every-other weekend.  Or Jim can take off work during the week on a Tuesday or Thursday.  At some point we may want to go to a zoo or the Strasburg railroad.  And we'd be up for other suggestions we might not have thought of.  And come this fall, there are more things to do around this area than there is time to get to.  One event we might try with the kids would be the Apple Harvest Festival in October.  For anyone that likes craft fairs, this is one of the best around.

The kids are learning their letters and numbers now.  Jonathan and Lydia do letters or numbers more than Anna, but she can do them too.  Although numbers generally run from 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 ,9 ,10.  Seems to be a number or two missing in there somewhere.  And letters do not always start at A.  Jonathan usually starts at O or Q, and Lydia likes to start at O.

Eating is still a challenge.  We've tried chicken nuggets a few times without much luck.  The very last time Anna showed interest in trying them.  She nibbled a very small bit, but eventually spit out what she took in.  Jonathan and Lydia don't even want to try for some reason.  They are taking to eating french fries at least.
