July update

July photos are now available via the Photos page.
We realize this update is long overdue. Daddy's schedule has been fairly hectic lately. The kids have been staying up until 9:00 during the summer instead of the 8:00 p.m they used to go to bed, so there is now 1 hour less in the evenings for getting stuff done. And work has been busy for Daddy too, sometimes requiring (voluntarily) working at night or on the weekends to ensure making deadlines.
July was a good month. We had a weeks vacation, starting with our trip to Altoona. We all had fun at Heather and Brian's wedding reception. Lydia liked sitting with Grandma and trying some food from her plate. Jonathan seemed to gravitate towards any of his Aunts, and Anna just wanted to roam regardless of who was watching her. Jonathan danced some, and Anna danced with Kaya for a little bit.
Sunday we were supposed to go to Delgrosso Park with Bryan, Theresa and Noah, but thunderstorms made us decide to hang out at the mall instead. So Theresa and Noah went with us on Monday during the afternoon before we headed north to Bradford. Some rides they liked at Delgrosso, but some rides Lydia decided not to like (even though they all esentially go around in a circle).
From Bradford, we headed over to Erie for a day to go to the zoo and visit with Virginia in the evening, and then headed back to Bradford for a late dinner with Grandma Johnson at Perkins. Perkins was the first sit-down resteraunt we tried with the kids since their first birthday (which was not a good experience). Now that they can drink a kids soda, color with crayons, and eat some food, it was much better. The next night we headed to Portville, NY for some good Turkey dinners (the kids ate some of our stuffing, which they seem to like even though they still dont like mashed potatos [even daddy ate mashed potatos when he was little]).
Just last week, we thought we had a deal on a new Toyota Sienna van at the York dealership. But after checking the paperwork closely, it turns out they subtracted some equipement (without telling us) in order to arrive at the dollar figure we wanted. We gave them one chance to correct the situation, but they got goofy with us. So we cancelled the order! What steamed us was that Daddy took a 1/2 day off work the day we went to the dealership specifically to try to get a deal done. So we ended up calling another dealership in Lancaster county, and arranged to go there Saturday morning. We did end up making a deal there on a 2008, but to get the options we want they have to get one in from another dealer. If everything goes as planned, we hope to pick it up next saturday morning. Of course of all mornings for Jonathan to get sick, he threw up twice saturday morning. Had he not been sick, we were supposed to go to a fair at the york fairgrounds for York Hospital employees and their families in the afternoon (free food, games for the kids, etc). But with Jonathan being sick, we skipped that.
Hopefully it will not be another full month before the next update. Hopefully Daddy will have time to do another posting after we pickup the new van next week.
