Sorry that this is long overdue (I hope some of you still come back to read these).  Fall seems to be our busiest time of year.  Now that the kids do not go to bed until 9:00 p.m., time really seems to be at a premium.

For anyone that does not know, Jonathan had rotavirus for a few weeks.  It seemed to start while we were on vacation while visiting Grandma and Pappy late last month.  It was only a few days ago that Jonathan finally got back to having normal poops!!!  Mommy said that Jonathan, Daddy and Mommy should all get matching t-shirts that say "I survived rotavirus"!  Trust us, it was not pleasant.

Once again this year, we were able to go to Ocean City, MD at the same time as Aunt Sue & Dave.  Last year there was absolutely no way we could have survived the trip without them.  Although we might have survived without them this year, it was certainly much more enjoyable and much easier with Sue & Dave there to help us as well as just being more fun with them to hang out with.  Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate this year.  We did not get any rain until the day we were leaving.  But do what ended up becoming a hurricane as the storm got closer to Maine, we had 30-40 MPH winds the entire time we were there.  So even though we packed up the beach towels and toys for them, we didn't even bother trying to have playtime in the sand this year.  We were going to save the Rehoboth Beach outlet shopping for the day we were to come home.  But given the weather, we ended up doing it a day earlier since playing on the beach was not going to happen.  With the new van and the kids being older, the trip was much easier.  The van has a DVD player built in, so that helps keep them entertained.  And the van have more storage that the Explorer.  And as the kids get more used to sleeping in their toddler beds, not having to use the pack-n-plays for sleeping will mean we might not need to put the cargo thing on the roof of the van (or can use it for more stuff leaving the van with more room).

We've said before that sometimes Lydia would be happy to be an only child, as she gets upset if she is not getting undivided attention at times.  While at Ocean City, Sue and Dave took Jonathan and Anna for a ride in their choo-choo wagon on the boardwalk while Lydia went into Caruso Pizza for lunch with Mommy and Daddy.  Needless to say she really enjoyed that.  And Mommy and Daddy got to see what it would be like to only have one child to care for.  Boy does only one child seem so easy!

Eating is still something we're struggling with.  On vacation we still needed to get Spaghettio's from the supermarket for their dinners.  But they did eat some spaghetti while a Ledo Pizza one night.  We still cannot get them interested in chicken nuggets yet.  We really hope they eat more real food by next year!

It seems like having a speech therapist come by once a week is really helping Anna and Jonathan (Lydia was started out and still is the best at language so far).   Although Jonathan sometimes whispers his sentences, so if you're not listening closely you might not hear him.  This month the therapist has been bringing craft projects for them to do too.  They've been doing different halloween crafts, and they seem to enjoy that.

Grandma Johnson is visiting us right now.  Anna took a little while before she would go up to her to kiss/hug her, but the other two take right to her.  Uncle Eric will come to visit this week for a few days too.  Last time Jonathan seemed to think Eric was his best buddy.  We'll see if he still acts that way this time or not.

Daddy took the kids in the back yard to play yesterday.  With the wind and temperature, it was a little chilly.  But the kids had appropriate jackets on for the weather.  After about twenty minutes, Anna happened to want Daddy to hold her hand and walk.  Anna's hand was very cold.  Daddy then checked Jonathan and Lydia's hands.  Jonathan's hand was also very cold.  But Lydia, who has always mananged to sweat in her car seat even in the winter time, had hands that still felt warm.  So given two out of three were cold, we went back inside right away.
